If you suffer from allergies you should change the air filter in your furnace often. There are many variables that help determine how often you should change your furnace air filter. If you have pets and smoke I would suggest changing your furnace air filter at least every 2 months. If you don't smoke or have pets you can go a bit longer before you need to change your furnace air filter. But, if you use 3m filters you may be able to go a bit longer. 3m makes some of the best filters available to home owners. The 3m filters definitely traps more of the things that may effect your allergies than your generic air filter.
